UC Davis is a governing member of BioMADE, a non-profit organization dedicated to growing the bioindustrial manufacturing industry in the U.S. BioMADE brings together over 300 members to develop biomanufacturing technologies, create more robust and resilient supply chains, and build a globally competitive STEM workforce. BioMADE’s 4S program area aims to maximize positive impact and minimize risk related to safety, security, sustainability, and social responsibility as the industry works together to advance bioindustrial manufacturing in the U.S.
For campus, Prof. Yi Wang (Biological and Agricultural Engineering) serves on the Technical Committee, Prof. Ron C. Runnebaum (Viticulture and Enology; Chemical Engineering) serves on the 4S Committee, and Dr. Denneal Jamison-McClung (Biotechnology Program) serves on the Education and Workforce Development Committee.
